Alternative Fitness Ideas For The New Year
It’s nearly 2009 and many of you are making that same old resolution you make every year: get in shape. And I understand because I was there at one time myself. The difference is that I was able to keep my promise to myself and lose significant pounds and inches. Truthfully, the secret to getting in shape may not be as complicated as you think.
With 2009 looming and new goals in mind, I am going to reveal some outside the box thinking when it comes to getting in shape. Here are some of the ideas I have come up with that may just work for you as well.
Work On Fitness Outside Of The Gym
I have always imagined fitness and toning meant you had to join a health club. I thought that “going” somewhere like a gym, fitness center or sports field was the first step to getting fit. I figured that working out had its place in my life and that is where it would remain. This philosophy has served me well, but I just don’t have any more time to spend at the health club. I had to find a way to increase my workouts without actually utilizing any real time. Get that?
Here’s the tip: There are cellulite reduction techniques that don’t require expensive machines, memberships or personal trainers. The kind of fitness equipment that I use comes in the form of MBT Sport Shoes. I have found that wearing them during my day produces a nice, tight burn in my legs, allowing me to constantly tone and flex my calves, thighs and buttocks. MBT Sport Shoes come in a myriad of colors and styles from casual to dressy, and are comfortable all at the same time. This is a “must” have for someone like me who is always on the go and looking to stay fit and toned.
In addition to strapping on my MBT Athletic Shoes, I am wearing ankle weights each morning and evening. I often take the train downtown to work and hoof-it 2 miles to the office. These long walks are better suited to fitness with a little weight added in. The best part is that as the stride gets easier, I can simply increase the weight. It’s a perfect solution.
Finally, the most noticeable change I’m making comes in the form of a new chair at work. It is no ordinary chair, however, it is actually a large, air-filled rubber ball. By sitting on the fitness ball throughout the day, my core muscles, namely the abs, are in constant flex and tone. I am very excited to see how fast my waste can shrink to a 32” or even 30” utilizing this small and inexpensive change.
When it comes to fitness for 2009, chances are your resolution will be more successful if you incorporate these simple tips that make the transformation easier and full proof! Best of luck in 2009!
